Recently, the “Guangdong Coastal Tourism Highway Plan” was formally announced and Guangdong will build the longest coastal tourism highway in the world. This coastal tourism highway has a total length of 1,875 kilometers and connects 14 cities, 38 counties (districts), 164 towns (streets), 15 industrial parks, and 20 Binhai New Districts. It connects 7 coastal tourism groups in series, and radiates 72 A grade coastal tourism scenic spots.

Guangdong, which has the longest coastline in mainland China, has always been proud of its coastal tourism resources. With a vast sea area and numerous islands, there are more than 1,400 coastal islands and 759 of which are more than 500 square meters. Together with the long coastline, they form a beautiful coastal scenery in Lingnan. Only from the planning point of view, the length of the coastal tourism highway planned by Guangdong has surpassed that of the US Highway No. 1 and is known as Guangdong’s “No. 1 Highway”. This series of roads linking coastal tourist attractions will link the Pearl River estuary, Kawashima-Yinhu Bay, Hailing Island- Shuidong Bay, Leizhou Peninsula, Daya Bay-Fuping Peninsula, Honghai Bay-Jangshiwan, and Chaozhou Nanao. The seven coastal tourism are expected to exert their snowball effect.
