At present, the location and design of a new exhibition hall has been completed. It is expected to officially start construction within this year and strive for the formal opening within three years. This will be the best blend of technology and culture. People can understand the story behind the museum without touching the artifacts, and these artifacts can be well preserved. President of the Palace Museum Shan Jixiang: “The cultural relics of the Collections of the Palace Museum are of high quality and quantity, and the cultural relics that we can present now only account for about 2% of all. We hope that this number will expand to 5% in the next two years. Our target will be, till the 100th anniversary, we will be able to display more than 10% of the cultural relics in 2025."
